Abstract
This article delves into the functional features of colloquial phraseological units (CPUs) in English, exploring how these expressions enrich everyday communication. It examines their role in conveying emotion, humor, and social identity, showcasing their dynamic nature within specific contexts. By analyzing the semantic, pragmatic, and sociolinguistic functions of CPUs, this study reveals their significance as essential components of spontaneous, authentic speech, and their contribution to the vibrant tapestry of English language.
