Abstract

Science fiction literature is one of the most challenging genres for translationbecause it combines imagination, creativity, and complex ideas. Writers often use newwords, unusual expressions, and futuristic concepts that may not exist in the target
language. As a result, translators need to choose appropriate strategies to convey theoriginal meaning while keeping the style and tone of the text. This paper focuses on acomparative study of translation strategies used in science fiction literary works. Itexamines how different methods help translators deal with lexical, stylistic, and culturaldifficulties. Special attention is given to commonly used strategies such as borrowing, calque, and adaptation, which are often applied when direct translation is not possible. Byanalyzing selected examples from science fiction texts, including Fahrenheit 451 by RayBradbury, this article aims to show how translation strategies influence the quality andclarity of the translated text. The research also highlights the importance of maintainingboth meaning and artistic expression in literary translation.
