Abstract
This thesis describes in detail the mental health problem of depression. Factors causing depression are listed. Gender differences in susceptibility to depression are studied. Aaron Beck's cognitive therapy and treatment methods for the study of depression will be considered. An analysis of the results by age periods based on the Zung-Balasheva "Determining the Degree of Depression" methodology will also be presented.
