Abstract

This article analyzes the role of mass media and media communication in developing communicative competence. In modern education, pupils should not be limited to speaking or writing grammatically correctly; they should also be able to understand, analyze, evaluate information from different sources, express their opinions clearly, and participate in culturally appropriate communication. Television, radio, the Internet, social networks, digital publications, podcasts, and video materials can serve as important tools for developing pupils’ speech activity, critical thinking, and information literacy. The article discusses the pedagogical opportunities, influence, risks, and methodological conditions of using media tools in the formation of communicative competence.
